2 robbers killed after victimizing Benilde student
MANILA, Philippines – The police killed two suspected robbers who victimized a De La Salle - College of St. Benilde student in Manila late Wednesday evening.
Superintendent Ernesto Tendero Jr., chief of Manila Police District - Station 2, said the suspects took off with the student’s bag along Taft Avenue at around 8 p.m.
“Tinutukan siya ng baril tapos ini-snatch [yung bag]. Makikita niyo ang estudyante, parang may galos dito [sa braso] at parang nabalian pa kasi kinaladad daw siya,” Tendero said.
The student sought the help of the school’s security guard, who alerted the police about the incident.
At around 10 p.m., policemen spotted the two tricycle-riding suspects at the corner of Singalong and Kapitan Tikong streets, leading to an exchange of fire.
The suspects were eventually gunned down by the police.
The police recovered the victim’s bag and 2 pistols from the slain suspects. – report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
